Uwe Diegel (born Nov 1, 1965 in Dunedin, New Zealand), is a specialist in the oscillometric measurement of and in various other forms of medical diagnostics pertaining to blood pressure, temperature, asthma and diabetes. He is the holder of several patents pertaining to temperature and blood pressure measurement.
Biography
After studying music in Canada and at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, he performed worldwide as a concert pianist for several years. In 1989 he was forced to change his career due to an injury to his right arm. He developed a new technology for the processing and production of low-lactose milk products and in 1992 he entered the world of medical diagnostics, quickly developing a particular interest in the field of cardiovascular diagnostics. His intense scientific curiosity has led him not only to develop new technologies in the field of cardiovascular diagnostics, but also to interest himself to field of medical manufacturing, industrial design and problems faced by Chinese manufacturing concerns. For several years, he has acted as an adviser on the subject of corporate branding for several Asian companies.
Uwe DIEGEL lives and Paris, France, where he runs HealthWorks Global and does fundamental research in blood pressure diagnostics. He is today considered to be a foremost expert in the field of blood pressure management and in the manufacturing of devices pertaining to the field of medical diagnostics. In 2009, Uwe got interested in Connected Health as a means of providing better patient management. He became involved in iHealth, a platform which takes all the signals of the body and translates into a meaningful format using smartphones and tablets. iHealth is today the world leader in the field of Connected Health. Uwe now serves as the President of iHealthLabs Europe, established in 2013 in Paris.

Paulo finished his PhD at the Biomedical Image Analysis group, from the Biomedical Engineering department at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. His dissertation was on topic 'Homogeneity based segmentation and enhancement of Diffusion Tensor Images - A white matter processing framework'.
Then he moved to Barcelona, and was a research associate at the Individual Differences Lab, at the University of Barcelona, exploiting social psychology experiments and neuroimaging. Together also with the Event-Lab, experimental virtual environments lab for neuroscience and technology - where the experiments happen.
